Monaghan lies at the centre of Ireland's dynamic north-eastern M1 Economic Corridor connecting Dublin and Belfast.



There is an abundance of attractive local recreational amenities in County Monaghan including 10 golf courses, many of which are professional courses such as Concra Wood in Castleblaney. County Monaghan are  extremely proud of our Peace Link facility which includes a 400m tartan running track , as well as a  3G multipurpose playing pitch, outdoor multi-use games area  and a sports centre with a state-of-the-art gym.

The county is home to some of Ireland's best schools making it an excellent location to raise a family. County Monaghan schools are regularly in Ireland's top performing schools.

Monaghan secondary schools also punch well above their weight in both national and provincial academic and sporting contests.

Monaghan has a unique food landscape with some of the largest Food producers in Ireland in the region operating side by side with a small number of innovative artisan producers.

Home to the renowned Castle Leslie and with many awards for local businesses Monaghan also runs a "Taste of Monaghan” as well as the Monaghan Street Food Festival.


Ideal hiking, cycling and horse riding tracks and routes with the greenway project expanding right across the county featuring a combination of urban and rural landscapes, following the path of the Ulster Canal

We are also opening the Ulster Canal where we will have kayaking, cruises and vacation stays at the Ulster Canal stores in the historic town of Clones.
