  • Business Centre Manager | Carrickmacross and Ballybay

    Job Title : Business Centre Manager Reports To: CEO Location: Carrickmacross and Ballybay Core Hours of Work: 9am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday Primary Purpose: Working with Enterprising Monaghan team, to manage existing tenants and help in fostering new business to grow successfully, with particular emphasis on South Monaghan (Ballybay and Carrickmacross areas). Identify those business that would benefit most from the resources of Enterprising Monaghan and bringing additional income stream to the Ballybay and Carrickmacross sites. To act as a consistent point of contact for all tenants (within our properties at Carrickmacross and Ballybay) and external organisations, funders etc that work with Enterprising Monaghan. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 1) Effectively manage existing tenants contracts and interactions. 2) Identify potential business and enterprises that would benefit from the expertise and services and resources of Enterprising Monaghan. 3) Grow a sustainable income stream to Enterprising Monaghan from activities in the designated areas. 4) Develop strategies that maximises the utilisation of fixed assets in Ballybay and Carrickmacross, while being mindful of costs. 5) To provide comprehensive feedback to the CEO and Board on all matters relating to the properties and the opportunities within each geographical location. 6) Act as main point of contact between tenants and Enterprising Monaghan 7) Negotiation of lease agreements with new tenants and renegotiation with existing tenants. 8) Onboarding of new tenants and suppliers/contract services, being mindful of creating opportunities for networking inside and outside of the two hubs. 9) Negotiation with suppliers of goods and services both specifically to the properties within Carrickmacross and Ballybay, and also Enterprising Monaghan in general 10) Act as Front of House contact for the properties within Carrickmacross and Ballybay for all 3rd party organisations eg Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Offices, IDA, chambers of Commerce, other Economic Development Organisations etc 11) Organise events and programmes for the benefit of tenants eg Awareness and Best Practice Seminars, Training Programmes etc 12) Be a member of the overall management team of Enterprising Monaghan and will be expected to assist and deputise for colleagues as required 13) Any other duties and tasks commensurate with the role and/or as required by CEO and Board within capabilities.   • Digital Hub Hailed As Key Enterprise Initiative

    The new Monaghan Digi Hub at the M:Tek 1 building in Knockaconny was hailed as a key initiative for the future development of regional economic enterprise in the Border region when it was officially opened by Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys on Monday morning last. A project of the Enterprising Monaghan business support agency to generate new remote working opportunities, the facility is the culmination of a three-year process which has seen significant capital investment accessed to evolve the hub facility at the existing M:Tek building. Already up and running, the hub houses four new companies and has provision for another 12-15 hot desk users. Its development has led to a major upgrade in the building’s IT infrastructure, with privacy booths with facilities and equipment for pod casting available to hub users. Northway Mushrooms, the Braincalm institute, Monaghan Alzheimers Association and Moonshine Design are currently in operation at the facility which, as Digi Hub Manager Dora MacElwain proudly outlined to Minister Humphreys when presenting her with an appropriately organic gift, had been designed with an emphasis on biophilic principles, foregrounding connection between its interior spaces and the natural environment through the use of plants, natural…

  • Podcast Training - Monaghan Institute Digital Media Students

    Industry experienced radio producer and founder of AudioBrand, Patrick Haughey, delivered podcast training to local businesses together with our Level 6 Digital Media students, recently. The training session was hosted by Enterprising Monaghan in Monaghan’s DigiHub Centre as part of DigitalFirstDay 2022. Patrick is an award-winning radio and podcast producer, content editor, and presenter who founded AudioBrand, a podcasting, content and communications agency specialising in next-generation marketing. He has created and currently produces projects including: Mario’s Sunday Roast with Mario Rosenstock, Today FM; All In with AIB, JOE.ie; the Voxpro Studios podcast (presenter); and the Today FM School of Radio and Podcasting (founder/director). Patrick shared his knowledge and expertise with students revealing how businesses can create successful branded podcasts to achieve strategic goals. During the workshop, students learned how to structure and format podcasts including a practical demonstration of industry-standard recording equipment, editing software and popular tools to publish and launch a podcast series. Dora MacElwain, DigiHub Manager at Enterprising Monaghan provided a tour of the facilities available to local businesses and students including recording/podcasting and hotdesking hubs.

    Monaghan County Council and Grant Thornton, hosted a gala dinner at Hillgrove Hotel. The event served as a great platform for businesses in Monaghan to convene and commemorate our entrepreneurial skills and business accomplishments. We were thrilled to unveil the Economic Analysis report, which highlights the promising opportunities for creating local employment and launching new projects in Co. Monaghan.   • New Developments at the M:Tek Business Campus, Monaghan Town

    Minister Humphreys recently launched the building phase of the new IDA Advanced Technology Building (ATB) at the M:Tek Business Campus in Monaghan Town. This new purpose built 13,000 sq ft facility will be aimed at potential Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects which will build Monaghan’s reputation as a key business hub for both agri-food and engineering sectors. Enterprising Monaghan want to congratulate the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, the IDA and Monaghan County Council for bringing this new state of the art faciality to the county.
